(RAW STORY 4.27.05) WASHINGTON – The Chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence has denied Democratic attempts to interview Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, former CIA Director George Tenet and two former senior aides to erstwhile Secretary of State Colin Powell, RAW STORY has learned.

Intelligence Vice Chairman Jay Rockefeller (D-WV) sought to interview Rice, Tenet and Powell's aides as part of a Senate inquiry into whether public statements by Administration officials about Iraq were corroborated by intelligence information. Recent reports – including one last Sunday from a former CIA chief in Europe – suggest that the Bush Administration was warned that Iraq did not have substantive weapons of mass destruction. (April 19th - Culhavoc) SHIPPINGPORT, Pa. — Two workers looking for tools set off a security situation at a Beaver County nuclear power plant that drew a response from police and federal investigators, WTAE Channel 4's Paul Van Osdol reported.

State police said the men drove up to the Beaver Valley Power Station in a tractor-trailer on Tuesday night to pick up two large containers of tools for a contractor for whom they worked.
Security guards stopped the men for a routine inspection, but they drove away, police said.
The guards became suspicious and called police, who pulled the truck over about a mile from the plant.

A state trooper got a warrant to search the vehicle and found a duffel bag, which he said contained $504,230 in mostly small bills.
The driver denied knowing anything about the money or who gave it to him, so the trooper seized it, police said.

A spokesman for the FBI confirmed that the Joint Terrorism Task Force responded to the situation in conjunction with state police, but he said they don’t think terrorism is involved. He would not give any other details. Read on...

I felt a little light heartedly inclined to draw attention to the striking similarities of these two figureheads as they rally their fellow zealots in unison to the harmonious tune of empty uranium drums.

Truth be sold, if it weren't for this and this, and some other articles on the issue, the Bush administration would probably already have us in Iran dropping the bomb.

Of course, the guilt doesn't rest with just one group, the Iranian leadership has been pretty effective at rallying their own, and of course provoking the Bush co clan and their pit bull supporters to begin reciting the scriptures and remodel their bomb shelters – at the same time.

I sometimes get to wondering though...
Might the US and Iran be staging these war-time theatrics in order to create paralysis within the Middle East and slow down the spread of destabilization? With both powers keeping their people and the people in surrounding regions in a constant state of fear, they're allowed to remain in power and do...well, just about anything.

They lie, and they are caught, and one admits to it
Then of course, there are those who are clearly guilty and would rather have YOU apologize before they admit their wrong doing and accept the consequences.

AUSTIN -- (STAR-TELEGRAM AUSTIN BUREAU) -- Gov. Rick Perry said Thursday that he will be in no hurry to call a special election to replace U.S. Rep. Tom DeLay, who this week announced his intention to quit Congress in June and have his name removed as the Republican nominee on the November ballot for the Sugar Land district.
Perry, also a Republican, said he does not have power to call a special election until he is formally notified that DeLay has vacated his post.
